the Obama administration to:
Award Sandy Hook El School teacher Victoria Soto the
Presidential Citizens Medal for extraordinary acts of courage.
Teacher Victoria Soto used her body
to shield her students from the maniacal gunman who launched a massacre at
Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Ct. When the Massacre started Vicki
hid her kids in closets and when the gunman came into her room she said the
class was in gym. She was then murdered. Not one of her students was harmed.
Soto paid for her bravery with her life. But in doing so, she also saved her
1st-graders from the murderous wrath of a madman, and became a hero. Police
relayed these events to the family of Soto’s bravery at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
She did what her heart told her to do. Teacher Soto demonstrated a commitment
to service in her community, extraordinary acts of courage and having a
sustained impact on others’ lives providing inspiration to serve.
